Children's Mobility Capacity

The Australian Government is inviting one organisation via a restricted process to apply to deliver services under the Families and Communities Program – Families and Children Activity – Children and Parenting Support program in the Perth – North West (SA4) area in 2026–27. The FaC Activity aims to support families, strengthen relationships, improve the wellbeing of children and young people and increase participation of people in community life to enhance family and community functioning. The Children and Parent Support program contributes to achieving the objectives of the FaC Activity, and focuses on providing: early intervention and prevention services aimed at improving children’s development and wellbeing adjunct care and early leaning services support to those in a parenting/carer role. The objectives of the grant opportunity are: support the purchase and installation of new CNC machines strengthen Wheelchairs for Kids Australia’s production reliability and operational sustainability. The intended outcomes of the grant opportunity are: increased organisational capacity to manufacture safe, durable and adjustable all-terrain wheelchairs for children with disability continued delivery of wheelchairs at no cost to children and families, improving children’s mobility, dignity, social participation and access to education improved long-term sustainability of the organisation’s manufacturing operations through modernised equipment with reduced maintenance risks.
