The close date above is the date for the Step-2 proposal due date. The Step-1 proposal due date is November 20, 2026. Step-2 proposals cannot be submitted if a Step-1 proposal was not submitted.

NOTICE: Amended October 8, 2026. This amendment adds this new program element to ROSES-2025. A virtual telecon for potential proposers will be held October 26 at noon Eastern Time. Connect information will be posted on the right of this NSPIRES page under "Other documents". Step-1 proposals are due by November 20, 2026, and Step-2 proposals are due February 5, 2027, see Section 3.1.

An individual may be the Principal Investigator (PI) of one and only one proposal to this program element unless they are serving as the Institutional PI for a proposal with a Co-I/Science PI who has not been granted PI status at the submitting institution. There is no limit on the number of times an individual may serve as the Institutional PI.

The rules regarding interagency awards described in Section 1.1.1 of B.1 Heliophysics Research Program Overview and Section 4 apply to this program element.

Proposals submitted to this program will be evaluated using a dual-anonymous review process. Proposals must be prepared according to the guidelines in Section 3.2 and in the associated "Guidelines for Proposers to ROSES DAPR Programs" document under "Other Documents" on the NSPIRES page for this program element.

All proposers are strongly encouraged to use the standard SMD template for the Open Science Data Management Plan see https://science.nasa.gov/researchers/sara/faqs/OSDMP

Trimmed here, the full scope, expected outcomes and award criteria are on the official topic page ↗.
