What this call funds

The objective of this grant opportunity is to provide grants of financial assistance to support medical research and medical innovation projects that: Stream 1: Conduct co-designed proof of concept or pilot studies to generate evidence of feasibility, affordability, acceptability, and impact of implementation strategies. Stream 2: Conduct small- or large-scale multidisciplinary implementation research focused on improving the adoption, sustainability, and/or scaling of evidence-based health and wellbeing interventions: • that are conducted in partnership with health service providers and consumers, and • focussed on one or more priority populations. To be competitive for funding, applicants must propose to conduct research that delivers against the above objectives and those of the Emerging Priorities and Consumer Driven Research Initiative. Applicants are encouraged to propose novel and/or innovative research and describe how the outcomes of the research will be translated into health benefits for Australians. An application may only be submitted to one of the above two Streams. The intended outcome of the research funded by this grant opportunity is to improve the health and wellbeing of Australians by: Stream 1: Building the evidence base for effective implementation of health interventions. Stream 2: Improving the effectiveness and quality of health and wellbeing interventions and services through robust implementation research. This grant opportunity is being administered by NHMRC on behalf of the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing. Further information on the Medical Research Future Fund is available from the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing's website. A list of Eligible Organisations can be found on the NHMRC List of MRFF Eligible Organisations webpage.
