Call for proposals round (India)

Indian agencies publish in discrete rounds. A call for proposals opens, runs for a few weeks, and closes; the next round appears when the agency is ready, which may be months later. There is little continuous intake of the kind common in Canada or Australia.

The listing keeps closed rounds visible beside the open one. Closed and current calls sit in the same table, distinguished only by the last date, and a reader who scans titles rather than dates concludes that dozens of calls are open when in fact none are.

Bemzu resolves this the same way it resolves a stale European status: the deadline decides. A round whose last date has passed is shown as closed regardless of how the source presents it, because the source's own word is a description of what was published, not of what is still available.

The practical consequence is that India is periodically empty on Bemzu. That is the source being between rounds and it is the honest state, not a gap in coverage. Showing 117 closed calls as though they were opportunities would be worse than showing none.

For anyone actually planning to apply, the round structure argues for preparing in advance rather than reacting. The eligibility conditions, the required Indian entity and the documentation are stable between rounds; what changes is the window, and it is short.
